Privacy Policy

Introduction

Rare Impact Care Services Ltd is committed to delivering domiciliary care that is truly centred on the person. Privacy is an absolute right of every individual receiving our services and is integral to the preservation of personal dignity. We work alongside all legal and caring agencies to uphold these rights without exception.

This policy ensures full compliance with Regulation 9: Person-Centred Care and Regulation 10: Dignity and Respect of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.

Policy Statement

The right to privacy is a fundamental right of every person in our care and must be embedded within all individual care plans. We recognise that everyone receiving care from Rare Impact Care Services Ltd has the right to live their life with privacy, dignity, independence and choice.

Our care workers enter the homes of the people we support as respectful visitors. They must seek personal information only where it is essential to delivering the agreed service, respect privacy and dignity at all times — especially during intimate care — and treat all personal information in strict confidence.

All care staff are required to obtain a person’s permission before using any of their possessions, materials or equipment, and to handle all information disclosed by clients and their families in accordance with our Confidentiality of Information Policy.

Our Commitments to the People We Support

  • Knock, ring or announce their presence before entering a person’s home.
  • Ensure the home is left safe and secure upon departure.
  • Address individuals by their preferred name and communicate respectfully.
  • Treat each person as a unique individual with the right to live as they choose.
  • Encourage independence and support people to do as much as possible for themselves.
  • Involve individuals in decisions relating to their care and support.
  • Respect cultural backgrounds, religious practices and personal beliefs.
  • Maintain confidentiality and never discuss private matters inappropriately.
  • Avoid patronising, condescending or disrespectful language.
